I must be a masochist

Yup, it's true. I apparently like to torture myself. This is true for a variety of reasons, but one that comes to mind today, is that I have this terrible tendency to see movies based on books I actually enjoyed.
I always do this, I read a book, I enjoy it, and then I find ou there's a movie made about it. Then silly me watches the movie and persists to criticize how far the script strays from the book. It drives me crazy and I always say to myself I need to stop doing it and I never do.
I just saw The Devil Wears Prada. I really liked the book, it was light, quick, funny and talked a lot about shoes (and I like shoes). The movie tore the book up into pieces and kept only a few points, and didn't talk nearly as much about shoes. It was mildly entertaining and the first quarter of the movie stays fairly close to the book but I think they just made up the second half. So once again I have sworn not to see a movie based on a novel, that is until another book I've read hits the big screen.
Oh crap, I just realized that I have publicized my reading The Devil Wears Prada....

I'm so glad you didn't like that movie. I wanted to see it and was slightly pissed cos I wouldn't get a chance to before taking off. Now I don't have to think, "Aww damn." And the book sounds better anyway.

And who cares if you read that shyte? I love it too.

You're in Medicine Hat for God's sake. I can't tell you how much I read in Tamale. From good to gook.

I read the worst book in the world there. One line read, "Smoke surrounded her like a whore's caress." What???

Guess it makes you think what a whore's caress would be like.

Deepfriedgold told me about it one time. He was upset at the fact it was caught on film, however.
