Just say no

I've spent a fair chunk of time lately explaining why I'm not on Facebook. (I'll wait a minute for readers to say "What! You'r not on Facebook?!") That's right, there's no Facebook here. I can sort of understand the appeal, and everyone says it's fun. But there are quite a few things I don't understand about it.
The first thing I don't get is finding all those long lost 'friends.' Sure, I've gotten in touch with a couple people through this little blog, but I don't have the desire to reconnect with everyone I've every met. There are people I went to high school with that I really don't feel the need to talk to ever again, or at least until my high school reunion. I'm also stubbornly trying to keep some element of surprise behind my reunion, if people are going to make me go back to Fort McMurray I better have some surprises left.
Another thing about Facebook that is beyond me is that people now use it as an invitation service. Are e-mail invites no longer cool, what's wrong with the phone. And if I'm not on Facebook does that mean I'm not invited?
I don't fully understand all the things that can be done on Facebook, but my friends talk about 'tagging' photos and crap but that's all beside the point.
Here's the biggest nail in the Facebook coffin for me. I really don't have the time. I spend all day sitting in front of a computer, often reading and looking at photos and don't need to come home and do the same thing. I barely have time to do my laundry, cook or do the dishes I don't need something else to distract me.
I only know a few people also on a Facebook boycott anyone else with me?
